We will drive into the station. Once we arrive at the station, the band will play and the flag will fly.

Whether sixty or sixteen, there is in every human being's heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what's next and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long are you young.
An inpidual human existence should be like a river—small at first, narrowly contained within its banks, and rushing passionately past boulders and over waterfalls. Gradually the river grows wider, the banks recede, the waters flow more quietly, and in the end, without any visible break, they become merged in the sea, and painlessly lose their inpidual being.
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity,of the appetite for adventure over the love of often exists in a man of sixty more than a boy of grows old merely by a number of grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.
We often close ourselves off when traumatic events happen in our lives; instead of letting the world soften us, we let it drive us deeper into ourselves. We try to deflect the hurt and pain by pretending it doesn’t exist, but although we can try this all we want, in the end, we can’t hide from ourselves. We need to learn to open our hearts to the potentials of life and let the world soften us.

The significant inscription found on an old key xxxIf I rest, I rustxxx would be an excellent motto for those who are afflicted with the slightest taint of idleness. Even the most industrious might adopt it with advantage to serve as a reminder that, if one allows his faculties to rest, like the iron in the unused key, they will soon show signs of rust and, ultimately, cannot do the work required of them.
Those who would attain the heights reached and kept by great men must keep their faculties polished by constant use, so that they may unlock the doors of knowledge, the gate that guard the entrances to the professions, to science, art, literature, agriculture --- every department of human endeavor.
Industry keeps bright the key that opens the treasury of achievement. If Hugh Miller, after toiling all day in a quarry, had devoted his evenings to rest and recreation, he would never have become a famous geologist. The celebrated mathematician, Edmund Stone, would never have published a mathematical dictionary, never have found the key to science of mathematics, if he had given his spare moments to idleness. Had the little Scotch lad, Ferguson, allowed the busy brain to go to sleep while he tended sheep on the hillside instead of calculating the position of the stars by a string of beads, he would never have become a famous astronomer
Labor vanquishes all --- not inconstant, spasmodic, or ill-directed labor, but faithful, unremitting, daily effort toward a well-directed purpose. Just as truly as eternal vigilance is the price of liberty, so is eternal industry the price of noble and enduring success.

Topic 3:persistence/ perseverance
The cartoon aims at informing us of the significance of persistence. Definitely, no once can deny the importance of it. Persistence can help us carve out a way to success. Although the way to success is bumpy and filled with inevitable setbacks, it is persistence that lead us to the destination we are eager to reach. To further demonstrate the importance of being persistent, I would like to take Thomas Edison as a case in point: how could he, one of the greatest inventor throughout the history of mankind who experienced numerous unsuccessful attempts, invent the first electric lamp without persistence ?
Accordingly, at no time should we overlook the importance of persistence. when coming across hardships and setbacks , we need to grit our teeth and adhere to the faith that our efforts and persistence will be paid off. “Great works are performed not by strength, but by perseverance.” Samuel Johnson once said.

Whenever a painful situation arises in your life, try to embrace it instead of running away or trying to mask the hurt. When the sadness strikes, take a deep breath and lean into it. When we run away from sadness that’s unfolding in our lives, it gets stronger and more real. We take an emotion that’s fleeting and make it a solid event, instead of something that passes through us.

Once President Roosevelt’s house was broken into and lots of things were stolen. Hearing this, one of Roosevelt’s friends wrote to him and advised him not to take it to his heart so much.
President Roosevelt wrote back immediately, saying,”Dear friend, thank you for your letter to comfort me. I’m all right now. I think I should thank God. This is because of the following three reasons: firstly, the thief only stole things from me but did not hurt me at all; secondly, the thief has stolen some of my things instead of all my things; thirdly, most luckily for me, it was the man rather than me who became a thief…”
It was quite unlucky for anyone to be stolen from.. However, President Roosevelt had such three reasons to be so grateful. This story tells us how we can learn to be grateful in our life.
Being grateful is an important philosophy of life and a GREat wisdom. . It is impossible for anyone to be lucky and successful all the time so long as he lives in the world. smile and so will it when you cry to it. ” If you are grateful to life, it will bring you shining sunlight.
We should learn how to face failure or misfortune bravely and generously and to try to deal with it. If so, should we complain about our life and become frustrated and disappointed ever since then or should we be grateful for our life, rise again ourselves after a fall? William Thackeray, a famous British writer, said, “Life is a mirror. When you smile in front of it , it will also
If you always complain about everything, you may own nothing in the end. When we are successful, we can surely have many reasons for being grateful, but we have only one excuse to show ungratefulness if we fail.
I think we should even be grateful to life whenever we are unsuccessful or unlucky. Only by doing this can we find our weakness and shortcomings when we fail. We can also get relief and warmth when we are unlucky. This can help us find our courage to overcome the difficulties we may face, and receive great impetus to move on. We should treat our frustration and misfortune in our life in the other way just as President Roosevelt did. We should be grateful all the time and keep having a healthy attitude to our life forever, keep having perfect characters and enterprising spirit. Being grateful is not only a kind of comfort, not an escape from life and nor thinking of winning in spirit like Ah Q. Being grateful is a way to sing for our life which comes just from our love and hope.
When we put a small piece of alum into muddy water, we can see the alum can soon make the water clear. If each of us has an attitude of being grateful, we’ll be able to get rid of impulse, upset, dissatisfaction and misfortune. Being grateful can bring us a better and more beautiful life.

It wasn't always as it seemed that two travelling angels stopped to spend the night at the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the guest rooms of the mansion. Instead, they gave them a small space in the cold basement because they made their beds on the hard floor.
The older angel saw a hole in the wall and fixed it. The little angel asked why. The old angel replied that things were not always like the next night when they came to a very poor but very hospitable one The next morning, when the sun came out, the angels found the farmer and his only cow lying in the ground, tearfully dead.
The little angel was very angry and asked the archangel how he could let this happen. The first person had everything, but you helped him. He accused the second family of having little money but willing to share everything.
You let the cow lie, and things are not always as it seems. When we were in the basement of the building, I noticed that there was gold hidden in the hole in the wall. Because the owner was too greedy to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so that he could not find it.
Last night we were sleeping in the farmer's bed, the dead corner fell on his wife, and I gave him the cow, but things didn't always look like that.
